Student/Parent/Family Compact


Parent/Family Agreement:


It is important to have my child reach his full academic potential.  Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following:

  1. Attend and request conferences when needed.
  2. Check the agenda daily for communication, schoolwork, and homework.
  3. Monitor TV viewing/computer use.
  4. Communicate with my child (ask questions and listen).
  5. Schedule a certain time and place for homework.
  6. See that my child is well fed and rested.
  7. Prepare for school ahead of time to avoid conflict.
  8. Review, discuss, sign, and return progress reports and report cards.
  9. Promote a positive attitude.
  10. Challenge the child to meet high expectations.
  11. Be an involved parent and show support by contributing time and/or resources to help in school.

Teacher Compact


            Students must be given the opportunity to meet academic achievement standards. Therefore, I will do the following:


  1. High Quality Curriculum and Instruction
  1. Make needed modifications. Instruction should be tailored to individual student needs.
  2. Provide a challenging and positive atmosphere
  3. Use a variety of incentives to promote completion of tasks.
  4. Be professional, maintain confidentiality, and have high expectations.
  5. If homework is assigned, it will be meaningful with clear directions.

  1. Promote parent visitation in all classrooms.
  2. Attend as many school functions as possible (particularly those involving my grade).
  3. Provide opportunities for family and parent involvement (by grade level and by teacher).

  2. Schedule Parent/Teacher conferences when needed.
  3. Provide frequent reports on child’s progress.
